Qualifications

Claire is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and is a Certified Professional Behaviour (DISC) Analyst.

Claire has also been awarded the PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate (project management), NCFE Cache Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy In The Workplace; Certificate in IT & Computing and is an accredited mediator with the Civil Mediation Council (CMC).

Experience

Having started her HR career in 2005, Claire has spent the majority of her career as an HR consultant for 100s of organisations from start-ups through to SMEs through to corporate, global organisations. 

Sector experience includes banking, distribution, transport, logistics & warehousing, manufacturing, customer services/telesales, healthcare, hospitality, recruitment, retail, travel, veterinary and technology.

Claire has a vast amount of experience in partnering with business owners; c-suite executives; in-house HR, operations, legal and health & safety teams; clients' external consultants; and UK and European lawyers. 

Having project managed and coordinated ISO accreditation for many companies, Claire has an eye for developing and continuously improving processes, and nowadays is passionate about using her skills and knowledge of quality management systems to make her clients' HR processes as efficient as possible.

WORKPLACE MEDIATION

According to ACAS, the cost of workplace conflict to UK organisations is in the region of £28.5 billion, which is the equivalent of more than £1,000 for each employee. 

Close to 10 million people experience conflict at work each year, with more than half reporting stress, anxiety or depression as a result. It is also estimated just under 900,000 took time off work and nearly half a million resigned.

Workplace mediation is increasingly popular tool used. It involves a mediator acting as a neutral third party to assist in resolving disputes and conflicts that arise within the workplace.

According to a CIPD report, over 90% of the mediations resulted in agreement, and mediation was reported to help rebuild relations between the disputants, and at a lower cost and more quickly than disciplinary and grievance procedures. Respondents believed that mediation was both more effective and efficient than traditional formal procedures.

How are services delivered?

The majority of our services can be delivered remotely via Zoom/Teams, phone and email.

Some support is best in-person. We generally travel within 1 to 1.5 hours of Ashford, Kent. Travel time/costs would be agreed separately. Clients are responsible for providing a venue, unless agreed otherwise.

Who is seen as the decision maker for HR matters?

Our clients' personnel remain the decision makers for the purposes of employment law. As is the case with any HR professional and their client, please be aware that correspondence exchanged between us and a client may be disclosed in the event of an Employment Tribunal.

What happens if a lawyer is required?

No problem! We have collaborated with many lawyers both within the UK and outside of the UK. We will let you know if we feel a matter ought to have legal involvement.

If you do not have an existing lawyer in mind, we can signpost you to a lawyer. 

Alternatively we can collaborate with any existing lawyer you use.
